RBA MAY 2026 INCREASE 4.35%
Here we go again, May 2026 sees the RBA stressing mortgage holders by another rate hike up from 4.1% to 4.35%. This will immediately put financial strain on mortgage holders. The hike of course will increase monthly repayments, reduce disposable income, and reduce borrowing capacity, potentially forcing household budgets to tighten even more amid high living costs, which may see some homeowners having to sell.
We have now seen 3 increases this year 2026 in February, March and now May which will have an impact on your mortgage payments by:
Eg. $1,000,000 loan, now increases your monthly payments by $450 – $550 per month.
Of course, all lenders will automatically pass on the full 25 basis point increase to your home loan.
